Aside from so many taxes (state/food/sales) and horrible drivers, VA is a gun-friendly state. Almost a little similar to Florida. Only quirks to it are that certain cities (ex.=Chesapeake) have ordinance laws that make carrying concealed firearms, even with a permit illegal. Also, restaurants that serve alcohol prohibit carrying concealed firearms, private businesses also have the right to prohibit concealed carry, and certain cities (ex.=Richmond, Chesapeake, VA Beach, etc.) require gun buyers to obtain a purchase permit prior to buying a gun. And yes, VA is a shall-issue state and has CCW reciprocities w/ MI, TX, FL, Idaho, TN, WV, and Indiana. Registration and licensing of guns are also not required. For more info., log on to packing.org. Hope this helps. Personally, I’ve been a gun owner for over 11 yrs. now and a CCW permit holder for over 8 yrs.
