When are you going to come down for a visit?Thank you for the invite. As I get my butt back in shape, that sounds like a nice ride to get my butt kicked xfit style 🙂
Dino says Hi. He told me your son is a force and that you have some pretty good athletes yourself.
I look forward to meeting you and enjoying your board
Keep up the great workMike Schoenfeld
October 8, 2007 at 5:51 pm #56762hazardoussmokerMemberI realize this is an old topic but I wanted to bring up questions about CrossFit.
I am a 40 yo Male who is overweight and out of shape and Krav is only available two times per week for me so I am looking for something else to add to get in the best shape of my life.
I’ve read up on CrossFit but the cost of adding another gym membership is a detterent for me.
I have access to a few Navy base gyms being that I am in the Navy but can’t see safely where I could do olympic style lifting.
Any suggestions someone may have on alternatives or whatnot?
Edit:
I should also add that I sometimes run 3 miles 2-3 times a week and do general pushups and crunches.
October 8, 2007 at 6:20 pm #56766adversity04MemberI would honestly just go to http://www.crossfit.com (wfs) and search around on the boards there. If you have the question, it’s more than likely been answered. If nothing else they respond much faster than people here do 😛

I think what adversity meant was the CrossFit board would probably be a better place to get your questions answered. 😀O lifts and their variations can be done with dumbbells as a sub.
http://www.CrossFit.com list a workout everyday on their front page. It’s free. You don’t have to go to an affiliate or CF gym to do the workouts. The Marines have picked it up as their standard issue PT. Perhaps you can find some on base.
CF list Brand X under ther start here menu. We scale the workout from the main page every day and have trainers on the board to answer questions from people starting out.
