    Orlando school

Well, I took Krav at Victory for about a year. They had a certified instructor for the first few months and everything was good. But then, he left. It went down hill from there. The kicks changed, the blocks changed. We never progressed past punch punch, kick kick. It really seemed like the instructor started making stuff up after a while, just to keep us busy. I can tell you that it became the norm for nothing to resemble what was on the Krav videos. There was no curriculum or rank or level advancement. In fact, it was even stated by the instructor at one time that Krav Maga was just a workout and that the techniques are learned in Tae Kwon Do training. We did the same thing over and over again. People left and new people came…punch punch, kick kick…We would cycle through new students replacing others who were tired of punch punch kick kick…Full Potential, Full Potential….Honestly, it became more of a Tai Bo class and an avenue to attempt to sell you on the Tae Kwon Do program. I took classes at the Metrowest location and have since quit Krav all together since there is no other school around. I too am thinking of the Ocoee school, (Apex, is it?). Anybody go there; how is it?

Very frustrated here. I have now been training with a non certified KM instructor for over a month. The original certified instructor has left. I have sent the details to JW and nothing has happened. There is no curriculum, and we have been doing the same thing for a month. The self defense moves are not even KM and nothing is like on the videos. The level II test date keeps moving farther off. I am not even sure it matters any more because it is the same non certified KM instructor that will be teaching level II. They suckered me in with the big discount by paying up front for a year. Now I am screwed. I signed up to learn Krav Maga, not just work out. Vicgory’s Krav license needs to be yanked so that no one else ends up in the same situation I am in. 😡

\”I am not sure the motive of the person saying he knew that the person certified was not there, but he is. Arlington is a competitive MA city, so who knows. \”

Just to clear things up, the school I was referring to in my earlier post is not the Arlington school and is not even in the same state. I was just saying that you shouldn’t make your decision by just going with the school listed on this site. Because that is what I did and the certifed KM instructor in my city and state is now gone and no attempt to rectify the situation by the school has been made.

He is a TKD instructor who is not certified to teach KM. John W has been notified of the particulars. The certifed KM teacher left the school. I am a newbie to KM but I can tell you that what is being taught differs substantially from whats on the KM videos.

I train at Victory as well. At first it was fine. But now, it is very frustrating to see the truly ceritified instructors jump around. They use Krav to get you in the door, give you a few good classes and then let a Tae Kwon Do guy treat it like a Tae Bo class. All the while, they want to sell you on Tae Kwon Do. It is definetly time for a real KM school in Orlando.

    Very Frustrated

    Non Certified Instructors

Been lurking for a while now. But had to register when this subject came up. Back to the topic of non Krav instructors teaching class. I can tell you it happens in Orlando all the time and every time it happens it pisses me off. I didn’t sign up for Krav to be tought by Tae kwon do techniques. These schools need to be reigned in. They use Krav Maga to get students in the door and then try to sell them something else later. I was initially very happy with the class but then it became more of a fitness class and is taught frequently by a non-certifed Krav instructor. Not Good!
