WOOHOO!! It’s here!! Now that I see the book cover close up, this actually brings back some memories.:D:
Way back at Pete’s old place (think we’d just passed Level 1), Pete decided one day class was gonna be different. He took the main training room, spread out chairs, student’s bags all over the place along with weapons. When he said go, we had to get to the weapons or if not, defend ourselves against them. I remember now hubby had to defend himself against one attacker. There he went picking up a chairrofl2 . I was throwing bags at attackersthumbsup
Ryan, Darren (thought John Whitman was helping writing too?)- thanks for bringing back the memories – can’t wait to dive into the book:woohoo:
Ok, this just got my attention in the table of contents – Defending against a hand grenade???

Got mine today as well!:woohoo: Haven’t had much time with it yet, but the part concerning the law is very interesting, as are the techniques. Can’t wait to spend some serious time with it!

Ordered mine from Borders and still haven’t gotten any e-mail telling me they have it, wtf??? where is my book????!! Should have ordered it from Amazon….crap! Won’t make that mistake again. It’s like having Christams and everyone else got a present and then your told Santa will bring your presents next week….I’m sure from the comments on this thread it will be worth the wait.

A little late to the party, but finally got mine…i like the carjacking stuff, the new gun defenses and i’m always looking for more bladed weapon defenses/counters.
Definitely not a book for beginners, in that some of the technique descriptions seem to rely on a base of knowledge a student should already possess from the complete krav book or their classes.
All in all, a very good book and an welcome addition to the training routine.

Finally got through the book – yeah, it rocks. I thought it had great detail in it and I liked the pictures. Only section that just looked weird to me was the hand grenades defenses. Not being in the military or LE, that’s probably why I suppose.
Oh yeah and Ryan DID sign it last time he came downthumbsup

MJ, what if the Christmas bomber had made it on with a grenade or other hand held IED, instead of the underwear version? What if a terrorist makes his way onto a bus or into a restaurant or school, where it may not be easy to exit or you have third parties (family) to protect? That’s the premise behind showing those techniques. Those threats may not be that relevant in the US, but they certainly are in other parts of the world. Hope this makes sense! Thanks for the kind words.

Oh I agree Ryan. First place that popped in my head when I saw that section was like Iraq or Afghanistan. I don’t know that I’d have the cojones to try that defense to be honest.
