Re: Sparing Chest Piece blah V.S blah 2
Revgear has these:

http://www.revgear.com/product/345/kickboxing_sparring_gear_dipped_foamI use the first and it stays tight around your ribs. It is possible to be hit in the side, when wearing this: it doesn’t protect all around. [I’ve had a cracked rib from someone with poor control]. It rotates slightly when you are sparring, so you have to check it occasionally. I’ve no experience with the other but, as it is cheaper, I expect it offers less protection.

Bas warns you: by the end of the session, you’re going to hate my voice! And he’s right but just when you are getting mad, he makes you laugh. Like, ‘If you’re still feeling fresh, try some knees to the chest!’

In some of my bigger classes, there will be breadths of experience from green through to yellow belts. I am a blue belt and have had useful help from higher belt students. I have tried to help orange and yellow belts only when they are clearly missing something, that the instructor has just demonstrated, such as two moves at once [eg pluck an attacker’s choking hand with your left hand while palm-striking with your fight]. Sometimes they get it, sometimes not. I am not going to nag about it. But it has helped me, so I figure it may help others.
