Re: Slow Progress
It will come. For me, suddenly it just “clicked”, like I have been doing it all my life.

In my case, I tested out of L1 at three months when my instructor said I was ready. I didn’t think I was but I found out from other students that he won’t tell you to test unless he was 95% certain you would pass so I trusted his judgement. After passing the test I continued to take L1 classes at least once a week but usually twice. When he said I was ready for the L2 test I signed up to test but couldn’t when my asthma acted up.

I agree that a year at L1 is excessive. I tested after three months attending class three to five times a week. My instructors also took our fitness level into consideration when deciding to let us test.
L2 took me longer because I was scheduled to test twice but my asthma acted up the week prior and was told to wait.

quote tzrider:When attacking in the 360 drills, I’ve taken to turning my forearm so I’m striking with the meaty underside of the forearm instead of the radius bone side of the forearm. It reduces bruising a lot.My instructors won’t let us get away with that, in fact some people in my class lost points on their test for that.

Each time I do 360 defense drills they suck a little less.
