    Re: Michigan Krav

    quote \”megachang\:

Hello there – can you tell me where in Michigan they offer official sponsored Krav? I know of maybe 2 place – 1 for sure – where do you take it? Thanks.

I train at Animal Instinct in Wyandotte. It is a very cool place. I originally took a free seminar in Livonia with a girlfriend and then started taking classes close to home. My girlfriend trains in Livonia at the Dragon Martial Arts Academy and she loves it, all she talks about now is Krav Maga. As far as I know these are the only two Krav Maga places on this side of the state.

I didn’t mean to offend anyone with this post. I just really wanted to make sure the fitness end of the system works. I can’t offord to go the gym and Krav, so I let the gym go to the side, at least through my yellow belt training.

    Instructors

Well the tall dreamy cute instructor wasn’t at class tonight, but the shorter one is cute too and he worked us out pretty good. My instructors are great. They are tough, you can see it on them. They workout a lot you can just tell they look lean and fit. And they all train and work us hard. I may be a girl but I don’t complain about anything so please don’t say all girls complain because that is sexist and unfair.

It is nice to have instructors who actually look like they can handle themselves that is important, especially when they are teaching you fitness and self-defense. And it does’t hurt that they are good looking either.

Oh yeah some of you boys need to learn how to type and spell.

    Apprentice Instructor

Ok, I after reading all of this stuff I had to ask one of my apprentice instructors the big question, \”What are apprentice instructors?\” His response: ìApprentice Instructors are generally upper level students who agree to become instructors. They spend a lot of extra time (80 hours, I think he said) learning how to teach a class from the certified instructors, then they do mock teaching with the certified instructors, then they assist in class, then they finally teach a few class on their own to make sure they can handle it, and finally they go to the National Center place for certification training.î He said it was one of two ways to become certified the other was something he called ìphase or block training.î I am quite sure that these guys are good instructors and being a female I want to learn from people who know their stuff and these guys do whether they are fully certified or on their way to being certified doesn’t matter. And the tall one is really cute too, so that makes it even better. 😆

    Apprentice Instructors

Although I just started they have two \”Apprentice Instructors\” where I train and they are both awesome. They come from different martial arts backgrounds but both are very highly competent. One of them was an Army Ranger or Marine or something like that and he really knows how to do a good work out. Both of these guys are hard core and totally into Krav. They were both senior students before they became Apprentices and they have an excellent knowledge base. As for our normal Instructors they both rock. These guys are great and they really try to have more than one instructor or an instructor and an apprentice there so you can get some one on one time.
