    quote Don:

The 6K and 7K look like they have frame locks – not my favorite but I think they’re significantly better than liner locks. I’m not familiar with the steel they’re using but IMO it’s a pretty nice looking knife – and it’s only $30 on Amazon (you could get Four of those for One of the Fox karambit)! http://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-6034T-Emerson-Designed-CQC-7K/dp/B00I0RQ0AO

The blade shape of the 6K is more my style:

I’ve got an Emerson/Kershaw auto commander http://www.bladeops.com/Emerson-Auto-Commander-Automatic-Knife-Black-Han-p/emeautocom.htm that feels real nice in my hand and the 6K and 7K handles look very similar so I’m betting they will feel pretty good too (for me at least)…

Fwiw, 6K and 7K made in China – if that makes a difference to you…

I ended up getting a cheap Karambit, and a Kershaw Emerson CQC 8K, I like the CQC 8K’s feel in my hand better, although they both fit very well.

    Re: Knife

Actually looking further into it, I like the Kershaw EMERSON CQC 7K it has the “Wave” feature, and I like that style of knife, and it’s a hell of a lot cheaper. LOL

    quote Don:

Sorry, no experience with it. Google search yields mixed reviews on the knife and company. The design doesn’t match my preferences. For that price, you could likely get a much nicer non-karambit (traditional) knife. Are you dead set on a karambit?

No, not really, just want something with fast deployment

    quote Don:

ETA: as far as the S&W swat lbs goes, if that fits your requirements/wish list, go for it (cheaper than a gas fill up for me). Check the feedback on Amazon and for any reviews on the internet. See if you can find a brick and mortar store that carries it so you can actually play with one in person. IMO, if you want something that you will be using for other things and will last a longer time, I say save up some more and get something better..

Thanks Don, I was also looking at the Emerson Super Karambit, but I can’t afford $300 for a knife

    Re: Gone for 1.5 mos

    quote KMyoshi:

    Sorry for your loss…

You were gone for 1.5 months and came back and tested? Damn… did you do any cardio exercises while you were gone?

So you passed but you didn’t? Are you going to have to retake the workshop AND the test again or just the test?

Just the test again, as for cardio, I just ran as much as time allowed, lunch, weekends, etc.

    Re: Gone for 1.5 mos

So I went back to class last night, and on my card said “SEE ME” I was like …..principles office………LOL

I talked to the instructor, and he said that he was going to pass me because I did fine, but he wants me to retest anyway, so I said just tell me when!

    quote KMyoshi:

    http://news.yahoo.com/police-pa-student-flashed-2-knives-injured-20-160307745.html

I’ve done knife drills where one needs to defend against an attacker with one knife… and that’s difficult enough, but two?

I think that if you could get control of both arms, maybe arm bar/take down, and then take control………..I dunno honestly

    Re: Gym Bag Recommendations?

I went to my local flea market and picked one up for $20. It is HUGE, and holds ALL of my stuff that I need

    Re: Handgun for Training

All Simi’s work in the same way (Desert Eagle is an exception, but the mechanics are the same)

The cartridge discharges, pushing the slide back, and expelling the empty.

You want to grab the slide, and hold on, it may go off, but if you have a firm grip on it, it will not be able to load another round.

Revolvers on the otherhand…the cylinder revolves, so you will need to focus on grabbing that, and preventing it from spinning.

With that said, you can pick up training guns on eBay for cheap. That is where I got mine.
