    Re: Lawton/Ft. Sill, OK

    quote Takt:

I’m new to the Ft. Sill area. I used to do some MMA back home and now I’m getting interested in Krav Maga for self defense. I’d love to train with anyone during some down time, I have a buddy or two who are interested as well. I’d appreciate any opportunity to learn.

Are you still in Lawton area? I have been training Krav Maga for a little while. I have all of David Kahns books and DVDs. In my opinion hes one of the best. I plan on trying to get to new jersey and do some training with him.

    Re: Alain Cohen?

I want to make sure you guys are not linking Alain Cohen to David Kahn. David Kahn would not and will not promote someone from a yellow belt to a black belt in a seminar!! Kahns teaching is very strict and you are not going to be given a black belt, you will have to earn it. I have talked to him several times via emails and phone because I want to learn Krav Maga under him. He is the US Chief instructor for Isreal Krav Maga Assocuation Gidon System. Under Grandmaster Haim Gidon. Haim Gidon is the real deal he was Imi’s chosen sucessor and earned his 8th Dan by Imi himself. Look it up on YouTube. There are a lot of fakes and phony teachers of Krav Maga out there. I urge you all to do your research before you chose a path, if you are going to bet your life on a knife or gun disarm you better know that what you learned was 100% true teaching, and not a watered down version someone came up with. I don’t care what style you want ale if they claim come to our 3 day seminar and you can become an instructor I would stay clear!! I want to learn from the true Krav Maga practitioners who travel to the source and regularly train with them. Like I said just do your homework. I personally chose Israel Krav Maga Association Gidon System because I have seen the proof and the dedication GM Gidon gives to the organization. And David Kahn is an awesome and highly skilled teacher of Krav Maga.

Re: David Kahn "Mastering Krav Maga" series

    Hello all,

I want to take a moment to express my personal gratitude to US Chief Instructor Mr. Kahn. Ladies and gentlemen this guy is the real deal! I have all his books, and am ordering DVDs. I have watched many clips from DVDs online, David is a very very good teacher! He takes the time to teach you the right way, because lets face it were not training for a mma fight we are training to save our life or the life of a family member or friend. Hopefully we never have to use what we are taught, but if we (I) have to use it I want to be taught by the best to become the best! I have emailed Mr. Kahn several times and talked with him on the phone. I have the upmost respect for him and his training. He has taken the time to explain how I can become a better Kravist and how to keep advancing my training. We currently do not have a IKMA training instructor in Oklahoma but hopefully we will get one. I respect the prior post who is in the IKMF and said your instructors have upmost respect for Mr. Kahn. I have material from IKMF, and KMWW. I’m just not a huge fan of Levine. Mr. Kahn travels to israeli several times throughout the year and trains with Grandmaster Gidon! This is important to me because he is traveling to the source of Krav Maga and training with Imi’s chosen successor and highest ranked Krav Maga instructor in the world Grandmaster Haim Gidon is 10th Dan! I respect other people who have trained under KMWW and IKMF, and you must feel confident in your own training remember a lot of it is mindset, if you doubt your training or feel it is not up to par give IKMA ( Gidon System) a hard look at, because you won’t be disappointed. Thank you again David Kahn for taking the time to help me become a Kravist! You are truly an inspiration and mentor to me and I can’t wait to do some training under your supervision! Good luck to all and be sure you get all of David Kahns Books and DVDs!! It’s life saving materials that you will never regret buying!!

    Respectfully submitted,
    Brandon Balthrop

    Re: Oklahoma Training Locations?

I went to the place in edmond and it is a nice place. He teaches other styles also which seem to be his main focus. There is a place in Duncan i can learn Bjj and MMA style fighting. I want to learn Krav Maga and it is very frustrating trying to find a place to do it in. If i could get the training and all i would love to open up a place here in duncan, that would allow students in this area a chance to learn this style. It is very benefical style i think and is a great work out and confindence builder. So if anyone knows anyone who is an instructor and would be willing to travel to teach im sure we can get enough people together to make it worth there time.

Thanks will do, and I have purchased the book and many dvds, but I agree it does not replace beening in class. Thanks for the welcome, and I will keep my hopes up on someone bringing class to my area.

    Re: Oklahoma Training Locations?

Hello, all I am from Duncan, Oklahoma and have been doing a ton of researsh on Krav Maga, but am running into the same problem as everyone else. Its a god drive to edmond which is the closest facilty that teaches this style. With gas prices the way they are it would cost a arm and leg to go twice a week. If anyone hears of a school that is planning on opening up or anything please let me know. I would love to start training in this style. Please feel free to email me at. [email protected]
