    Re: urban krav maga???

First I heard of it. The skills they teach maybe good but are they pulling a CKM? DUNNO.

They have many schools for this in the UK but only 2 in the US and I believe 1 in Canada.

I bet some of the vets here in KM can give you some more info on this.

He has been fortunate to have trained with some of the best KM Instructors Worldwide, not limited to, but including his good friend, Mr. Stewart McGill (Chief Instructor Urban Krav Maga). He instills in his students a simple thought: Be Aware, Train hard, Stay Safe, Survive!

    Re: Noooooooooooooob!

    GL with your training!

I just started KM a few weeks ago and I love it! It kicks my a$$ everytime but well worth it. I have dropped 8 pounds since I started and plan on buying the Bas Rutten workout CD for home use when I can’t make it to training.

If you have any questions please post them here in the forums, I have found the folks here are real open and offer a ton of information.

    Re: Belts and Levels?

    I found this…

    Practitioner 1 & 2 equals Yellow belt.
    Practitioner 3 & 4 equals Orange belt..
Practitioner 5 & Graduate 1 equals Green belt.
    Graduate 2 & 3 equals Blue belt.
    Graduate 4 & 5 Brown belt
Expert 1 equals Black belt 1 dan
Expert 2 equals Black belt 2 dan
Expert 3 equals Black belt 3 dan
Expert 4 equals Black belt 4 dan
Expert 5 equals Black belt 5 dan
Master 1 – Darren Levine, USA
    Master 2
Master 3 – Only Eyal Yanilov, Israel

But are belt and level tests diffrent?

    Re: First Krav Class Tonight!

I felt 45mins out of the 60mins I was there was cardio. WHY?

If I wanted mostly cardio I would join a gym and take classes for that. I joined to learn self-defense.

I know it’s my first class so not really complaining more wondering if it’s like this at every class?

    Re: Footwear

    Transmission
Ringworm is very common, especially in children, and may be spread by skin-to-skin contact, as well as via contact with contaminated items such as hairbrushes or through the use of the same toilet seat as an infected individual. Ringworm spreads readily, as those infected are contagious even before they show symptoms of the disease. Participants in contact sports such as wrestling have a risk of contracting the fungal infection through skin-to-skin contact.
Ringworm is mildly contagious. Ringworm is also a common infection in domestic animals, especially farm animals, dogs and cats and even small pets like hamsters or guinea pigs. Humans can contract ringworm from these animals as humans are in close contact with them. Chickens may also be a source, due to the dirty conditions in which many poultry live and in which ringworm may thrive. Ringworm can also be caught from other humans, both by direct contact and by prolonged contact with flakes of shed skin (from sharing clothes or from house dust, for instance).
To catch ringworm, you have to be exposed to it and you have to be susceptible. Some people are much more susceptible than others. Those with eczema or other skin problems get ringworm more easily because the protective barrier of the skin’s outer layer is less intact. Children are more susceptible before puberty. Some people are genetically predisposed, and can get it easily throughout life.

Re: How much cardio should a class have?

If class is only an hour long then maybe 15 mins. tops to get the heart pumping. Now if the class is 2 hrs. then 45 mins. would be ideal.
