Re: Complete Krav maga book?
quote kvmorl:Don’t waste your money on this book. I got it as a gift and after a quick review it made it to the bottom of the trash bin.

[quote:f5c7f07e42=\”Paragon\”]I have 16 oz boxing gloves and grappling gloves, both Krav Maga brand. Do I need different gloves?[/quote:f5c7f07e42]
I would not think so, but I would only use the 16oz gloves. Also get you some hand wraps. Wrap your hands/wrists good before putting on your gloves. You want to protect your hands as much as possible.
You can get them at your local sporting goods store, but here is an example

Checkout a free standing heavy bag.
Something like this.

October 18, 2007 at 6:32 pm #56970kravdajMemberWow, what a thread. I will never understand the mentality of my way is the best yours is the worst. It seems to be a standard argument for many things in life.
Judo is the best…..TKD sucks
Christianity is the best……Judaism sucks
Coke is the best…..Pepsi sucksFor me it has always been what works for me…..works for me, it might not work for you, so don’t do it. Do what works for you. I respect you for your choice, respect me for mine.
The only thing I get from the FIGHT guy is his insecurity with his system. It is easy to build up something you believe in without tearing down everything else, if what you believe in has any merit.
Just my two cents.
October 16, 2007 at 6:21 pm #56900kravdajMemberI am a member in Houston, and have trained in Kansas City and was allowed to train in Las Vegas(easily talked myself out of it).
If you are traveling, just drop the instructor an email and let them know when you will be in town and if they will let you come in and train. I usually offer to pay a \”daily rate\”, but have not had to.
I would point out not to abuse their generosity, train once or twice, but do not go daily for a month, without signing up for a membership.
It is a great experience to see how others train, and the differences in technique.

Have you checked out the Krav Summer camp?
https://kravmaga.com/pdf/SummerCamp2007.pdfMay not be full auto, but looks like you get a lot more \”training\” instead of just a free for all shoot.
July 19, 2007 at 2:14 pm #54726kravdajMemberHave you asked your Chief Instructor about apprenticeship?
July 18, 2007 at 5:47 pm #54705kravdajMemberTo get in shape I always recommend Ross Training. He is a boxing trainer who has a couple of books on how to get in in fighting shape. His site has a lot of great videos which demo the workouts he recommends. The forums are probably the greatest source of workout info I have found. There are many posters who advise, and help out each other.
