Re: Lamenting the loss of krav classes
I dunno man, if the X-fit is anything like what we’re getting thrown into during the morning hell sessions, theres no way id go hard enough without someone yelling at me.

Classes in Gainesville are about the same..about 5 minutes of light warmup/stretching, a pretty intense 5-10 minute anaerobic workout, all bodyweight, but veeeery high intensity. then usually striking drills and such for 20-30 mins. then some sort of self defense..starting easy and working your way to multiple attacker etc. then usually some sort of burnout drill for the last 5 mins or so.. its a hell of a workout.

oh and krav classes run from 8pm to 9pm mon-thurs plus noon classes on wed. and friday. and friday 7-8 we do a grappling/mma-ish class.. its about 100$ a month, but thats unlimited gym time. myself and another guy come in between classes on thurs and friday for even more pain alot of the times, so for me its well worth it.

quote Happyloaf:Hello,I am “officially” starting on Monday in my Krav Maga training. For the last 3 years I have been training Cuong Nhu which is a great traditional style but have felt that its application to the real-world was missing. I decided to take a krav maga class at the local Karate America and was instantly hooked.
I will try and continue training both styles 2-3 times a week. This is going to be a blast. Krav Maga is a much harder workout than I anticipated; it is 1 hour of pure nonstop training. I am in good physical shape and I was winded at the end.
I do have one question. How do belts/levels work? Is there a standardized curriculum?
whoa!! wierd..i just posted about the gainesville area…what gym are you starting at??

I’m an airframe/powerplant mechanic for Eclipse aviation here at the gainesville service center. The most layed back jet service center in the world i think.
