Re: Krav Maga in Boynton Beach Florida

Does anyone know if Frank Frank still at 441 location? It rained with him briefly at Barbender”s, he was a good instructor.

    Re: Belts

I think having to work to attain some goal (belt, level, etc.) keeps one interested and focused. This is especially true since there are no Krav competitons as there are in martial arts. Otherwise, it’s like a glorified aerobics class.

I’m assuming you’re meaning those who take the promotion belt tests? I just looked and there are folks who did get promoted so it SAYS but clicking the site I get CO?:dunno:

If you’re meaning the black belt tests, you have to be invited to test.

No, I didn’t mean black belt tests, I meant every other belt test for which you don’t have to be invited. FL = CO, see what I mean?

Pretty broad question you’re asking. There’s more than 1 KMWW center in Florida so which one are you referring to? Did you ask the center? Are they new?

There is a list on this site of belts awarded by state – Florida is missing.

Rich F, I think you and I spoke a couple of years ago, about private training. Can you give me more info about this class. I’d like to come watch a class.

    Re: List of certified instructors

    quote Ryan:

I don’t believe anyone said it was a big deal. I’m not sure why you’re making it one. If it’s on the site, it’s a licensed school. If it’s a licensed school, it has certified instructors. The school can easily identify them and is required to display certifications. What’s so hard about THAT?

I’m making this a big deal because I paid and trained at a school listed on your site as being a licensed KMWW school. I do not belive the teacher is certified in over a year of training we never got to advanced techniques and the school does not offer testing. If I’m wrong then fine, let’s see a list of certified instructors.

Since you’re so sure of yourself, are you willing to vouch that every licensed school has certified instructors that actually teach the KM courses?

    Re: List of certified instructors

    quote Ryan:

There should not be any licensed schools without certified instructors.

Okay, so why is it so difficult to produce a list of certified instructors.

CJ’s Dad seems to think that such a list is incomprehensibly large. A KM student should be able to independently verify the level of certification of his or her instructor (at a school shown on the KMWW website) is certified. I am licensed in my profession and anyone can go on a statewide database to verify that. What’s the big deal?

    Re: List of certified instructors

    quote Kevin Mack:

and remember that there are also a number of credible instructors and schools that arent under the KMWW umbrella

There also may be a number of KMWW licensed schools that do not have a KMWW certified instructor.

    Re: Qualifications for Regional Centers

What about qualifications for instructors at other KM licensed locations?

Re: Level testing at another location possible?

    quote Marcus Kowal:

Yes, doable. B/w SO and WLA or what? Otherwise, doable but only if instructor/licensee allows it and in both cases only if instructor at “home” center signs off for it.

Why would the instructor/licensee not allow it?

You’re right, you don’t see the front kick too much. I did recently see an MMA fighter use a couple of front kicks, though I can’t remember the fighter.
