    Re: help maybe?

    quote CJs Dad:

That makes about as much sense as taking up underwater basket weaving because the scuba gear might scare him off.

    I thought the same thing.

One of the principles of Krav Maga is “techniques must be accessible to the average person, not just athletes.”

Perhaps it should be added “not just martial artists” or “brave people”.

    quote tech94:

Just watched it again to see the 2:18 mark you mentioned…he also grabs what appears to be the blade of a knife with his hand as part of the defense a couple seconds later…thus guy is a joke. Makes Moni almost look legit

I hadn’t noticed that. Also, by the time he grabs the blade he had already being stabbed in the stomach.

And the Ameri-do-te style neck break he pulls at 2:37? Beautiful!

Watch this and tell me if he didn’t learn it here:

Can’t wait to try that thing at 2:18 out there! I’m sure a bullet trough the forehead must be entertaining.

Re: **SPAM WARNING** Krav Online Training

The “Self Defense Seniors” picture also portrays the devastating “smell my 5 fingers” palm technique.

And speaking of self defense for seniors, this is the best thing I’ve ever heard on that subject:

Good Lord almighty… The one that the woman does after the kid does the wrist grab and punch is just asking desperately for a knife right at the jugular.

    quote tech94:

push one forward to the down side of the bleachers throwing him off balance just long enough to punch the second guy.

    Awesome! Thanks!

Thank you, Don, and thank you for that detailed answer KMyoshi. I’m guessing that one of my challenges will be learning to quickly assess and react, and not getting too tangled in (as they said in The Last Samurai) “too many mind”.

    Re: Why Krav?

I had 2 experiences which prompted me to try to learn some form of self defense. First, my family was randomly attacked by a person with a mental illness; my mother in particular was in serious danger in that situation. Thankfully we were together with a large group of people and the situation was contained quickly. But what if it had happened to her and me alone? Would I know what to do and how to protect her? Then I was jogging with the one who was my wife back then, when a group of 4 young people neared us and started saying disrespectful things to my wife. I took a stand and faced them, confident enough to make them stop, but I was sure that if they had all attacked me at once I would have been overwhelmed and beaten. This time there wasn’t anyone else around to help us, so I was lucky. This made me consider learning some form of self-defense for the very first time, as I didn’t have any martial arts background. After doing some extensive research, having conversation with martial artists, asking questions about what would be the most effective form of self-defense, reading forums and watching countless videos of fighting situations, I came to the conclusion that Krav Maga was the way to go. It was perfect for me because 1. I could learn to defend myself quickly rather than spend a large amount of time learning forms as with traditional martial arts, and 2. It is a system whose techniques are designed to work effectively assuming I am not an athletic or martial arts experienced individual.

    Re: MaxKravMaga online

Where did you find that 45-day trial link? I took a look at their page and couldn’t find it. Overall it seems quite organized and clear about payments.

    But you can’t learn Zohan’s kicking technique? Aw, what a letdown… :D:

    Cool video. Thanks for sharing!

    Re: help maybe?

If this thing has been going on for so long, I doubt that fighting would make much of a difference, except for making him even more aggressive towards you which might cause a worst situation either by accident or purposeful action. If you have the possibility, get some legal consultation with someone who knows how the system works in your area and explore the several options that you have (what could work, what would not and why), then decide on some legal action and take it. As Don said, it all depends on how far you are willing to take matters with this. I think the bigger question here is how long are you willing to let this situation go on for.
