The people who are saying KM B.S probably never actually tried it first hand, or just being a complete jerk. There should be no bashing when it comes to Martial Arts because you will literally draw blood, sweat and sometimes tears just to be efficient in it. Real Martial Arts practitioners should not at all times bash any other form of Martial Arts. Live and Let Live is the key.

quote jjbklb:Get to the school at least a half hour early.Spent that time doing gentle stretches & get ‘warmed up’ before your lesson starts.Yeah, doing some stretches will minimize muscle strain. Always works with anything that is physically demanding..

It is either your sparring partner naturally hits hard that your 100% is just his 50% (considering the size difference) or he is just showing off.. Or, he have some personal issues with you. Your instructor doesn’t know how to properly pair sparring partners.. He’s more dangerous compared to your over-sized training partner in my opinion. And yes, the general rule for sparring is to go lightly – especially when wearing MMA style gloves that is only made to protect your hand, and not the opponent’s body parts. Are you wearing head gear that day?

I have a similar problem as far as kicking is concerned. Every time I try to throw a high kick, it feels like the muscles on my thighs are going to get ripped off. Or does it really feel that way for a beginner?

quote Don:Ditto here too! I feel you IDBL! Now your knife is officially broken in! ;):Here’s one of my more recent dumbass moments (if/when you’re playing with a live karambit, it’s not a good idea to be spinning/flipping it while leaned back in your office chair, with your karambit hand forearm resting on the arm of the chair, watching a movie on your computer and talking on the phone)…
This was after it had healed a little; the karambit was a cheapy chinese made ebay special (but hella sharp); the tip went into my arm about a tad bit more in depth as how much of it is sticking past the laceration in the picture, I’m just glad it didn’t hit/sever anything important…
Now that’s some ill looking knife you got there, bro. 🙂
