Re: Phase A
quote BradM:Thanks Kirsten. That’s what I thought. I know when I first started Krav my instructor had just completed Phase A. He later completed Phase B. I think he sent to Phase C after I left. Thanks again.
Sorry for the confusion, Brad. 🙂
I tend to forget that the rules so close to KMWW HQ are a little different than they are out in the rest of the country, because of the points Christian (Revancha) made above. In any case, I do hope Kirsten’s answer made a little more sense than mine did. Keep training! 🙂
Peace,
Mario

Phase A = Level 1
Phase B = Level 2
Phase C = Level 3In general, you won’t get cleared to teach your own class on a solo basis until you finish Phase C. But you can definitely assist Level 1 classes on a gradually increasing amount of contribution, based on how many classes you’ve observed a lead instructor make corrections, etc.
So, after Phase A, you can expect to get a chance to assist classes. Having said that, all the pertinent details will be explained to you before, during, and after Phase. 🙂
It’s a great experience!

Hail to the newest members of the fraternity! 🙂

Just my $0.02, but it’s hard to beat the National Training Center and the sister school in Sherman Oaks. 🙂

Hey “Future SWAT.” The ATA school seems to be a Krav Maga Worldwide affiliate, as the images have the practitioners wearing gear I recognize, and reference the main Krav website. Ask the instructors there if they are a KMWW affiliate. If it IS a KMWW affiliate, your training should be rock solid.
I train/teach here in LA and I am part of the Krav Maga Worldwide family.

Welcome to the forums and howdy from the west coast! There are 6 Krav Maga Worldwide affiliates in the Atlanta area. (http://www.kravmaga.com)
Looks like they are all north of I-20. I’m not familiar with where Kennesaw is, relative to Atlanta proper, but even if it’s a little bit of a drive from the nearest affiliate, I promise you it’ll be worth the effort!

So I ACTUALLY got to see Pete’s place. MJ & Hubby gave me a great tour today. I had to pick up my jaw off the floor several times.
I believe it’s now Revancha’s turn to go visit SA. 🙂

quote KMCat:FYIFrom the link below:

The article goes on to say:
True enough….but not everyone that studies Krav is of the Jewish faith and we should be respectful of others. Beyond that, I do know several Jewish people that have tattoo’s……
I hope someone who can translate Hebrew will answer his question.

quote NCSam160:There’s a lot of rumors flying around about whether Rampage is or isn’t playing Baracus. He hasn’t released anything official, and I’m a little lenient about believing Yahoo after they reported Fedor E. had signed with the UFC, it’s a bit hard to tell whether the information they have is correct or not.Actually, I’ve seen this now from 2 different sources. Late August had the story shot down and some rapper had the role. This week, a European source and Yahoo both have Rampage with the role. I think it’s got some legs, until/unless I see recent counter-stories in the news. 🙂

quote unstpabl1:Not sure I can do reviews anymore…I’m vulnerable and the instructors scare me. Luckily, there’s only a couple of you who know who I am….I’m sure your not telling:OhMy: each other. Probably have to give up the cape though. On the plus side got class in last 3 days feel old ,but really good. One hour class equals 3 hour nap, 3 redbulls, a 2 hour thai massage and vicadin.
Truth is I feel better after class, much looser. Not really sore at all. The classes`are really well thought out and different daily. Really happy I joined
Well, Mike, we’re glad to know you like the sense of community at S.O. It does start at the top, and as an instructor there, we work hard to make it feel that way. It ‘felt’ that way to those of us that have been there since the school opened, and we want to keep that going.
It’s not always easy, but it’s clear that it’s worth the effort. Thanks for joining the fun. 🙂
