he called me once and left a message and I could not get his number to call him back. He did at least call me though. I do wonder why he went off and started claiming all the things that he did when he certainly did not need to. I, like you and your husband, was mainly looking for a place to work out and learn what I could. He was always honest with me up front, so I did not care if his MA was sanctioned or not. Could not care less. Hope the 2 of you are still enjoying M/A.

Cool, thought your wording sounded familiar. Hope you and your husband are doing well. Have you heard/seen/spoken to Larry lately?

    Lonis

Also, it shows/states that the new Gym where Larry was at for a day or two has since discontinued thier association with him. Well, shortly after he was served by the Sheriff.

Also, 3 knees, do you post on Bullshido and if you do, what is your handle? Krav chick?

Yes l lot of things have been happening very quickly. And in fact, I spoke to Lucky’s son today at lunch. That is a whole other issue.

You should be able to hyper over. But, I have also noticed sometimes you can go to bullshido.com and then hit forums and type in Larry Lonis.

Well, you need to keep reading. Here is a link to the bullshido pages on Larry. It appears he was fired last week due to all the mess going on in there.

    Evidence

Hey, I am dying to hear more about this evidence. How did they figure out this combination from David to Goliath? Where did you read or hear this. I have got to check this out for myself.

WHAT? Your not an English teacher. GEEES! That string was a very good string. Like I said, quit acting like a professional victum. Doubt if Sensei is out to get you with his evil secret message from the Bible.

    Knee injury

Hey, I had a similar problem. I was also trianing for my Black Belt and durning this time I developed a knee problem. Long story short, I had chipped my knee in 4 spots and the chips were floating around in the knee area. They even went in with a lazor. As I was told by the Dr. as I was trying to convince him and my wife to let me finish the test, that it does not matter the rank you obtain if your injury prevents you from being able to defend yourself. He told me to quit while I still could physically defend myself. I would think that I am in better shape now from the surgery, but he makes sense. IT would be great if I had a Black Belt, but not worth the risk of injuring myself permenatly. I had to think damn long and hard before I decided not to take the BB test due to the physicall nature of it, but when it is all said and done, I am still able to defend and teach as well as I ever could and better in fact, and plan on staying that way.

    Sensei

I also think THOR should go there and work out. I dont think he should spar with Sensei either. I think Thor might have more credability if he did go to the Dojo and work out for a while. It did sound like he had at least visited there. I wonder if that is true, why did he not stay and work out more? I can say from expierence, that Sensei never took me out like he could so easily do. He is not into beating someone half to death to prove himself. He would have applied enough to challenge you, not hurt you. I have said numerous times, I have grappled with Sensei for a long time, and he never took advantage of his superior skill, size or ability but gave me just enough resistance to help me get better. He even was humble enough to say that I almost beat him once or twice. (Yea, right). Also, JC, are you the JC I think that you are? When Sensei said that we all have better things to do, I dont think he meant it as a cut that we are here, simply that we could have choosen other venues for our time and the time we spend here should be taken serious.

    Sensei

There is another saying, \”There is no honor in defeating the weak\”.

$5 to anyone who can tell me who said that. I am also glad that others have backed Sensei L’Lonis. In all humality, I will train with the person who originally started all this. That is if you dont mind training with an old man who’s had surgery on his leg. I think honestly that you will see you have made a simple mistake in your conclusions as the Dojo is really a great place to go to learn and enjoy companionship. Whatever you end up doing, I wish you well and hope you enjoy the Dojo of your eventual choice.

    Sensei

I, also, wonder why someone who has not been to the school to train would have such a strong opinion on the \”Sensei\” thing. I can say this for sure. I know Sensei better then anyone, or at least the Sensei we’re all speaking of here. I went with him to Georgia for the original training in Krav Maga and helped him when he was first setting up his school. He and I were once like brothers and I have had several personal conversations with him about students and other Dojo’s and instructors. I have also had the pleasure of training with him for about 5 years. He has taught me in several discliplines and allowed me on occasion to teach at his school. That being said I can say that I never expected anyone to call me Sensei (as an instructor) and I never heard him demand anyone call him Sensei. They can call him that, or Mr. L’Lonis or Sir. But I think he is too big a person (not just the 6’8\” physical person) to demand that from someone. I believe his skills and teaching ability speak for themselves. He always speaks well of other people or he does not speak at all. When I actually first heard and read the original post I thought that person was joking. I am not sure that I could say that many strong things about a place I have never been before. As far as the scripture that is on the wall, that was in reality a joint idea between the 2 of us. I do believe it was a srtonger idea on his part then mine, but a fellow practioneer had this verse tattooed on his ankle in Hebrew and I brought that up to Larry. It went from there. I personally see nothing wrong with it. Anyone who finds offense to it is probably someone who sees himself as a victum in society in general and needs to get over him or herself. I am kind of surprised that this much volume has been generated over something someone has said that has not even worked out there.

I would like to add this, to those who now know who I am and those who dont – I am not a Black Belt and probably would never really be good enough to be a Black Belt under Mr. L’Lonis, but what I learned has enhanced me and I have enjoyed being able to pratice what little of it I now can. I have enjoyed the people that I meet and am glad that I obtained the rank that I did. I will be unable to go for a Black Belt due to injury/surgery, but still work out every day with what I can. I believe that is the true essence of what Martial Arts is about. For one to learn from it and let it enchance your life.

I will see you around Larry. How about those twins in Georgia!
