As far as my experience not really HIIT, but still a great workout! And my school had TRX, which rocked.

Forward roll with a machine gun takedown, if you must press the forward attack. If not follow all the other advice in the thread.

Hahaha, good point.
I didn’t even notice that and went by the name of the vid.
I have seen all the Pure Krav Maga videos and I am picking it up when I can.
His Krav Maga is different though. He has a very different defense to a handgun to the front aimed at the head. Well, slightly different. The principles are the same. I dunno after doing a bit of research and stuff I am going to learn his system.
His is what was being taught in the IDF, KMWW/IKMF/IKMA/etc all use Imi’s civilian curriculum. He did not want all children and people to know what Israeli commandos know, just to effectively defend themselves. The only reason he finally wrote his book is because of current world affairs.
Nothing wrong with that, but as I want to join the Army and go SF, I would rather learn the actual military version of the system.
Just my 2 cents.

Awesome. Now my phone background. My two favorite things, and Jar Jar getting a nice elbow to the face!

Basic groundfighting starts in level 1, and level 2 has some too. You won’t see armbars and stuff like that later, but this isn’t MMA. Stick with it and they will explain why you learn it in this order. The first goal is survival, and drawn out one on one wrestling matches leave you exposed to other attackers for too long. But if you like grappling, and can afford to cross train take up MMA or BJJ! Best of luck to you! Train hard!

I’m a fan of the book. Haven’t watched the video yet, out and about.

Nice to see Bas doing something to help future generations.

Again, I go to UMA, and I love it. Great owner, great instructors, good group of students to train with.
Never checked out the other place. Have heard mixed reviews from many sources, but if it being closer to you will encourage you to go more often, by all means go there. Or ask to try a class at each. I know at UMA you can take an intro course to check it out for like 10 bucks.

WOW!
Since my instructor is out testing for lvl 2 instructor, I got to attend a level 2 class with some of my level 1 buddies.
Awesome.
We worked on elbows, elbow+ knee combos, A and B punching and kneeing, reaction drills with punching bags and shoulder tags (well shoulder, head, and abs), and the cream of the crop for us lvl 1 guys, gun defenses!
We learned how to react when grabbed from behind with a straight arm choke and a gun pointed at your head. Never tried that one before, loved it.

Moni was on Human Weapon and showed a judo wristlock gun from front takeaway. Did it look like it would work? Sure. But not what is in my training, or what I practice.
Amir did a KM gun from front disarm on Fight Science in the recent Special Ops episode. That’s the .12 seconds disarm punch combo I think you brought up.

quote resqr1:I have a very easy counter to Mr. hot shot attorney. My almost 25 years of combatives training and experience make it pretty easy for me to subdue those not requiring deadly force until the police arrive. If I can not for some reason, I’ll let him go and give a great description. I could give the same argument for my baton, pepper spray and taser. I am off duty, I will not carry everything required of me while on duty. I carry what I do in the case DEADLY force is REQUIRED. If it is not I have more than capable other means. I will say that I have carried handcuffs on occassion. Mostly felt unnecessary. Every scenario can be what-if’ed to death. I simply answered the question. Most lawyers have problems with firearms anyway. They are pretty easily shut down if you have the right training and mindset. That works. Hopefully, the theory will never need to be tested. thumbsup
