Re: Krav Maga in Boynton Beach Florida

I dont know if you found a school yet and I still highly recommend Frank Frank.

I recently found an excellent Instructor in Boynton Beach/Delray Beach area certified by Nir Maman. Private message me if you want his contact.

    Rick-
    thanks for the kind words,

I do not teach anymore and sidelined again with injury.

Frank Frank is a certified instructor with the Krav Maga Worldwide. He was teaching at Barbenders Gym on Gun Hill Road, that location is closed and he is teaching at a new gym that opened in Boynton at 441 near Lantana. (behind Dunkin Donuts and Tire Warehouse)
    His # is 561 427 4511.
He is a really good teacher and has a dedicated group of students that train well together.

Re: David Kahn "Mastering Krav Maga" series

I got the DVD set a few weeks ago and think it is an awesome DVD collection. I have not been able to train much the last few years the DVDs are a great learning tool. I am using them to get back in training shape and to refresh my knowledge of KM. I highly recommend this purchase for anyone looking for a quality KM DVD set.

    Re: Great Km Book

The video does not do him justice.
I have been in his civilian classes when he visited to guest instruct or observe while I was training in NY in the earlier part of the decade. I have also seen him teach LE classes. He is top notch and not a fake. His instruction has saved countless lives in Israel and around the world. Previously stated above was that he is the soldier on the cover of “fighting fit”. If you get a chance to read the book by Steven Hartov “Heat of Ramadan”, the KM instructor Boaz in the book is based on Boaz.

    Re: West Palm Beach, FL

After a few years away from KM,I found this class and Instructor Frank Frank about 6 weeks ago. I have begun to train at this location and recommend this instructor. It is a good class with motivated students. The instructor’s KM training is current and there is no Tae Kwon Doe or Karate taught in the class. The gym charges by the class or by the month. If you choose the month for $80 the gym throws in membership. His class is at 6 on tuesdays and thursday and 11 on Saturdays.

    Re: KMWW and IKMA

While I have not posted in a while, I saw this topic when I logged in and figured to put in my 2 cents. Whoever you choose to train with, continue doing your research and contact the governing organizations to confirm certifications. There are many Krav offshoots and copycats in Florida and some other Israeli based systems, most are legit instructors but some are not.

    Re: Level 1 test breakfast?

Day before eat plenty of hummus and pita. Night before have couscous (Israeli of course). Breakfast the day of the test I highly recommend shakshuka.

Re: Commando Krav Maga / CKM / Moni Aizik

Thank you for posting the Forward article. I strongly agree with David’s quote from the article ìThere are people who want to kill every one of us regardless of what krav maga association we belong to”.
Between the Gaza issue, the economy and the Madoff scandal anti-semitism is definitely on the rise. I think Moni should finally tell the truth and stop the lies and the real KM systems learn to work together to fight the real enemy instead of each other.
I feel a little guilty being able to discuss this in a web forum while friends and family are on their way to fight in Gaza and our American troops are deployed around the world.

    Re: Ohad Gidon-Born into it.

    krav-

Please copy quotes correctly. I never commented on Haim’s videos. By the way, I have trained with the Gidon family and not only are they all skilled practitioners but they are incredible teachers. They spent an incredible amount of time drilling the basics into me in addition to teaching the advanced moves.

    quote Krav:

Resuming, I think Ohad is a very talented Krav Maga practitioner, but this video doesn’t do justice to IMI’s Krav Maga.

    Just my opinion …

Explain how you are the authority on Imi’s Krav Maga?
Before I get started, did you read the comment earlier in the thread from Satilian. Pretty much sums up what I am going to say.

    Re: Krav Maga "Associations"

Israeli Krav International is another organization that has popped up. It is not IKMA. Having seen one of their seminars recently it looks like it developed in a very different manner than the major KM organizations. However, the Israeli aggressiveness and fighting mentality was there. I am not knocking the organization, but it was different.

Re: Commando Krav Maga / CKM / Moni Aizik

    Coetsey-

I agree with psyops. Do your research on Moni. When every KM association actually agrees on something (Moni and CKM being a fraud), there is credibility to the claim. The different associations have never agreed on anything else. It is documented that several countries are now looking into his claims.

I saw your post on the CKM website and my only comment is that there are alot of good people in CKM. I wish them all well and hope they find more legitimate instruction with a qualified instructor. Their only problem is that the have an unscrupulous leader. Hopefully no one will lose their life using one of his techniques. If you want to see a similar Martial Arts situation, Google the following names: Chung Moo Doe, 8 Martial Arts for Health or Oom Yung Doe. It sounds similar and those so-called “founders” of Korean MA finally wound up in jail for fraud among other things. Having visited relative’s classes several times a few years ago I had no idea I was witnessing a fraud at the time either.

Hope my post was useful to you.

    Re: urban krav maga???

Having trained both here and in Netanya I can say without reservation that David Kahn and the IKMA in Israel are in a league by themselves when it comes to KM. No insult implied to anyone else, but they have brought training to another level.

With all the anti-Israel, anti-American and anti-semitic crap that occurs it is better that we learn from each other than constantly bicker and fight about KM organization (Moni Azik is another story). Al-Queda, Hamas, Hezbellah, and the rest really do not care which KM organization we are affiliated with, they just want us dead.

Haim is an inspiring teacher and he trains great instructors. While training with Haim, Ohad, Yigal and the rest of the group in Netanya, they spent as much time teaching us how to teach as well as teaching us technique. As for David teaching advanced techniques I can say that I had to use the so-called advanced techniques a few weeks after my first class 8 years ago. It saved my life.
I recommend that for anyone who cant make the trip to Israel, they should make a trip to visit David’s school here in the US.

Re: Advanced Krav Maga – David Kahn is out..

    quote bigtk1978:

From the instruction up here in Palm Beach I gained a lot of experience and practice. We learned a lot of material and concepts from Dave’s first book. Funny enough today I had a new guy at my job who does MMA and he was curious about krav knife defenses. To show off a bit we did a thrusting defense, transitioned to the take away, and then into a slashing move to seal the deal. He was impressed with the simplicity and effectiveness of the concepts. David K trains some great instructors. Rich F was a great instructor, and today my instincts were up to par and precise even though I haven’t done any training since June. The new co worker and I going to go through the book when it comes in.

Thank you for the kind words.
