Re: I am so disgusted with the barrage of fake Krav Maga. Can anyone help?

I second StuartF. If you are looking for Krav, check out Atlanta Krav Maga. Eric the chief instructor is a KM blackbelt from KMMW and one of the most seasoned teachers in Atlanta. I don’t know how many there are, but I do know some LEO’s train there as well.

I can’t speak to Haganah, but if you pick up the official Krav Maga book you can see the the curriculum taught at AKMF.

Re: Help, My knee’s don’t like the exercise

Let me preface with I am not a doctor, but I did watch an actor play one on tv.

Check out some of the running websites. They talk about different kind of running gaits (pronation) and what can attribute to what is commonly called runners knee. See if changing your shoe type helps. I had a similar problem when I first started.

    Re: Good Mouth Guard

Also take a look at Brain-Pad http://www.brainpads.com. It may not help the talking problem, but I found it will help with the breathing issue. Walmart sells a cheaper version of it, so you can try it out before investing in one of the high quality ones.

Re: A big "WHAT’S UP?!?!?!" from Atlanta, GA

Hey there and welcome! I train at AKMF and really enjoy it. Plus I should add, I live in Kennesaw as well. :):

Like you, I did a lot of research before choosing. As was mentioned earlier, the chief instructor is currently one of two black belts in the state of Georgia, and truly knows his Krav.

For me it came down to where I work, since I most likely would go to train after work, the convenience of the schedule, and gut feeling about the facility.

All I can say is I am very happy with AKMF, and not just because some of the instructors read these boards.;):

Why TopExpert10, based on your posts, one may think you have an agenda.:Surprised:

Re: Are we being true to the system?

I am sure James is right. There would have been a certain amount of acting and editing by the news crew. I seriously doubt anyone has been hammerfisted for leaving the seat up. If so, recalling one of Kirsten’s posts, Oneness would be dead by now.rofl2

    Re: How can I Improve?

The first thing that came to my mind is the Bas Rutten MMA workout (it is Cd’s and a DVD). It is a great all round conditioning tool.

Remember though, no pee-peeing on the pads, mats or your training partner to mark your territory.rofl2

    quote mara_jade:

Gotta wonder why they keep making Saw movies though? Think IMDB.com said there’s a Saw VI?

If you manage to find that out, please see if you can find out why they keep making Final Destination movies.

I mean we get it already. They cheat death and death comes to find them in some gruesome bizarre way. And if that story line was not enough, you can now watch them bite the dust in 3D.

    Re: Heel Pain Question

Is it a regular pain. Something you experience on a regular basis?

Re: can krav maga teach me..

    Yes.

But you must learn to say “Don’t taze me bro” in Hebrew, move to the Sinai, and seek out the Krav master Zohan.

There you will learn the 720 defense against tasers.

Re: Jeff Dunham Fans – check this out

I saw Jeff Dunham live when he was rehearsing for last years Christmas Comedy channel special. He is the funniest comedian I have ever seen. If you ever have a chance, go see him live. He tours throughout the year.

Re: I feel like a Shrek Sometimes

Just think of it this way.

It is better to feel like Shrek, than look like Shrek.
