quote \”Giant Killer\:You are right, this thread should die, but I still wonder, what would be the point? It just sounds a bit as though you are afraid of other people’s opinions. Skip them with your eyes and then what, you may still catch a word or two? So what? There are really not that many \”negative\” posts out there. Also, someone who writes something that annoys you in one thread, might have something of value to offer in another. Pushing \”ignore\” buttons will eliminate all responses and thus might make it harder to follow a conversation. I don’t think it would do much good._________________
GiantkillerAre you afraid someone is going to ignore your opinion?
May 4, 2007 at 6:30 am #53395sean-akravMemberThe point of a suicide bomber is that you don’t see it coming. Maybe if you see the guy walking towards you with a box shaped stomach and some wires sticking out you might be able to run or something.
I would use the part of Krav called awareness. See someone acting funny like that then runnnnnn.
*Hopefully* we won’t see anymore suicide bombings on our soil.

April 28, 2007 at 6:56 pm #53254sean-akravMemberIt’s a really nice thing to have. I have used it on other forums.
April 18, 2007 at 10:10 pm #53104sean-akravMemberI honestly don’t know what I would do. It’s really saddening though all of this.
March 17, 2007 at 9:01 pm #52751sean-akravMemberAikido is good but may be too complicated for them to learn, perhaps? It takes a little while to become efficient in it. Good art though for sure.
Hapkido is good but from what I have heard it has not adapted to modern needs.
TKD is supposedly more of a sport art now then anything, however I can tell you my KM instructor did it for 12 years and can probably beat anyone up.
Maybe you can get some KM books/DVDs and learn it yourself and teach your kids?

I’ve heard \”if you let them get that close you have done something wrong\”, but the Army creed says \”I will engage the enemies of the U.S. in close quarters\” or something along those lines.I’m sure it needs a revamp but it will take time.
The thing is if your tasking an army as a police force train em’ for it, give em’ bullets and ROE’s that favor and protect them. In the current situations the convoys and the support units are being attacked. Do they have the training to do the job? The Marines as I understand have the philosphy of Everyone of them is a rifleman. The other services don’t as I understand it, so depending what your job is are they getting like a crash course in tatics of some sort?
I think if you are infantry or anything with the chance of getting in combat that you will be ready for combat when/if it comes. There is a guy in my ROTC that was prior service and he has one of the smallest shot groups I’ve ever seen. He even beat our Lt. Colonel.

February 12, 2007 at 2:26 pm #52302sean-akravMemberI have no Military experience but I am currently in ROTC. There is a guy in here that was a Navy SEAL and that is pretty insane. You should talk to usnavy because I’m sure he has a lot of info to give and a bunch of awesome stories. If I do contract I will be going Army Infantry most likely.
January 24, 2007 at 3:33 am #52058sean-akravMemberI don’t know much of the history of Krav Maga but the muay thai clench is pretty familiar for me from Krav.
Also I thought there were two different MTs, the ‘traditional’ type and then the sport type. Either one I think are brutal.
January 12, 2007 at 6:28 am #51881sean-akravMemberHaha I go to school near the city and not all parts of the city are bad but it is a pretty crappy place.
January 11, 2007 at 11:10 pm #51873sean-akravMemberAh Baltimore. I spend a lot of time there.
January 7, 2007 at 7:53 am #51803sean-akravMemberI’m going out on a limb here but I would imagine it hurts pretty bad to get shot.
However might be easier to keep moving if you weigh 260lbs after getting shot with say a 9mm in the gut as apposed to someone weighing in at 175lbs.
I bet it still hurts the same though.
