    Re: Any other gun nuts?

    quote Jeremy Stafford:

I played with one, it is a sexy little beast. Here’s the deal though… It’s not a Colt, it does not meet the TDP and it has untested, non milspec technology.

+1 on that. Try searching ‘carrier tilt’ on some of the rifle forums and see what these piston ARs are doing to the inside of the receiver extensions. Ouch!

Re: How do classes in different areas compare?

Off topic, but AviatorDave, is that an ATF tax stamp I see? SBRing, are we? 😉

Re: Lethargic moves and the efficiency of the lessons

    quote phlegmon27:

It’s a good idea to start slow to build confidence in the technique and muscle memory before ramping up to full speed. You do need to aproximate “real life” at some point, but it is counterproductive to try and do that from the begining.

That has been the interesting transition from level 1 to level 2 for me. Our level 2 training has been more free form than level 1, and I often find myself trying to figure out how to put all the moves together. It’s coming along, but definitely takes time.

Re: Wrists, Training and a Real Fight…

Just a quick question regarding wrist wraps. I’ve used them a few times, but found that they hindered my palm heel strike because I couldn’t bend my wrist very well. They were excellent for punches, but not so good for palm heel strikes.

Is it just a question of working harder to bend the wrists with the wraps on?

Re: Just when I thought I was safe?!?!?

When I started Krav, I had a good aerobic base from cycling/spinning. I serious got (and still do) my ass handed to me with punching, kicking, pushups, etc. Anaerobic hell!! 🙂

Re: How old are you guys/

I’m 41, and I’ve been doing Krav for about 10 months. Before that, I did a lot of cycling, so I had a pretty decent aerobic base (so I thought). I found out that doing pushups, burpees, situps, mountain climbers, etc. kicked my ass!

I won’t say it gets easier, because as you become more fit (fitter?), you will push yourself farther. The pushups and situps have gotten easier, but now I try to do more of them.

I now try to balance Krav with cycling (or spinning indoors).

Got it. Thanks for the info.

and a few ibuprofen and Iím good to go.

Yep, that’s what the sports dr. suggested for my shoulder pain: some light rehab work and about 1.8 g of Ibuprofin per day. Seems to be working. (I’m 40, BTW)

I forgot to mention that my head is shaved, so those of you with hair will probably not experience this embarrassing phenomenon. rofl2

Re: Help! Need exercises for business meeting (trapped in a hotel)

But what am I going to do on day 2? ;):

Seriously though, thanks for the list Nixxon! (I’m probably going to be falling asleep during the meeting from exhaustion).

    quote Nickolas Cook:

How tough of a workout do you want? There are a lot of Crossfit training routines that require little or no equipment to get a total body workout. But they are tough with a capital T!

Good point, I forgot to mention that. I’m looking for maybe 30 min or so. Not sure about the intensity though. Perhaps something like doing two warmup workouts at Ultima. Which Cross fit routines would you recommend?

I do like the idea of a jump rope too. I can throw that in my luggage.

Hoser! You must be in Canada. I miss being able to learn French from the product packaging. :(: ;): Well, actually, I don’t miss learning French.

    quote T.J.:

    B.O.B. is a mean loking guy…

LOL!! That’s what I was thinking when I was practicing elbow strikes on him. He just stares at you with those eyes. Pisses me off even more. Of course, the head on a human with a neck that THICK probably wouldn’t move if I elbowed him with all my might. ;):

    I hate/love BOB. :):
