    Re: Keysi Fighting Method

    I looked I swear.
The screen must have been blurry in that one instant.

If someone can delete this, no one will know.

    Re: Keysi Fighting Method

Well the guy who started this program is having a 2 1/2 hour seminar this weekend that I will be attending. Hopefully I can find something out. It looks very interesting and it would just be another helpful thing to know.

    Re: wieght and krav

    Well this is interesting.

I have a freind who takes KM and he has been at it now for about 4 months. Joe started out around 5’8″ and 350#.

In the last 4 months he has watched and been very strict about his diet and his KM. He takes 3 classes a week and is going at his own pace.

I saw him yesterday and he has lost 76# since he started. His doctor told him that he is doing great.

I haven’t seen him since he started and I was like “damn, where is the rest of you”.

good luck and stick with it.

    Re: Belt Ranks and Testing

I have been attending Karate America KM for 3 years+ and I have gotten nothing as far as rank or belts. I just go and keep myself training.

As was previously stated Karate America is the only place around to learn KM. The sturcture that they have sucks. The Instructors are usually very good and they are tied by the HQ of Karate America.

Re: Straight punches and hyperextended elbow

My advice. First, if this happens in real life, you don’t mind taking one for the team. When you are practicing, you shouldn’t have to feel like you’re going to get injured why learning to protect yourself.

Like Mr. Stafford said work on the groin protection and if he continues to move. He won’t go far from the floor.

Re: Most popular guns for criminals

I think it depends more ont he level of criminal your dealing with. The new kid is just wanting a gun, .22 or .45 doesn’t make him a difference.

The mid level choose the biggest and baddest looking, for intimidation puposes. this way they may not have to shoot at anyone. A person will just give up and that’s it. These people may not even be convicted felons, just trying to be.

The people who are career criminals and know that they are convicted felons, will be going to jail whether they shoot or just get caught are going to be carrying for the fight and ready to go.

A person who is convicted of a felony faces about 10 years under most state or federal laws. So the last group has alot to lose.

Re: How long is your class?

I know we normally go about 1 hour. We have gone 3 hours during seminars and if you don’t get a second wind and take break for a little water and breating, Your screwed.

    Re: Shoulder Tag…Huh?

I usually give 2 pieces of advice.

Be careful not to get smacked or smack someone else.

Watch the torso. Before the hand can move normally the shoulders will. Especially if you are moving around. thumbsup

    Re: List of certified instructors

Okay here’s some input. Our instructor is a great guy and is certified. He doesn’t own the school and there for doesn’t set the standards.

We don’t test or go over many advanced techniques. If we do it is usually at the pushing of someone or by asking questions and using the KM book for reference.

I have never even met Ryan or anyone from this site, but there are several of them that I believe are doing all that they can to make KM better and are great people because of it. They don’t have to sit on this site and give us advice on how to do anything.

If you have questions go to the instructor, call the NTC, or Email someone. Sounds like a simple solution. Like Ryan said they don’t oversee how a school is run. Which sorta sucks, in certain situations.

    Re: Partnering Up

I have been doing KM for about 2 years and I switch constantly. I work with the same people when I can, but usually me and another person work with new people or people who are visiting, at the instructors request.

It’s good to have different people, I think. I don’t want to get use to the same thing over and over. We have acouple of people that push more than others and then we have people that are lucky to have a pulse for class.

    Re: List of certified instructors

My problem has never been the instructors. My problem is how the facilities are run. They are so different and vary so greatly.

    Can we get this fixed?

    Re: Zero Tolerance

My kids know the rules. Zero Tolerance isn’t going to protect you.

Three chances. Tell the teacher, tell the teacher and the kid, KO the kid. They become a victim.

Always stick up for each other, period. We are the only ones we know we can depend on. My children know that I’m there for them if they are right.

    Re: Consequences……Ripples on the Pond

I’ve thought about that before and the wife has brought it up as well.

At the time he was taking martial arts and figured he could conquer the world. My wife always commented that he could conquer anything in his world. His brother and I were friends and worked together after all of this took place.

Sometimes humility is a hard lesson to learn. I know believe me.
